Casablanca – After investing $20.3 million in its renovation, Barceló Hotel Group has reopened its Tangier branch, a centrally positioned 5-star design hotel with 200 rooms and suites.
With this launch, the hotel company reaffirms its commitment to Morocco’s tourist sector and economic growth, a nation where the network first opened its doors in 2006, in Casablanca.
The Barceló Tangier is located on the beachfront, on Mohammed VI Avenue, a ten-minute walk from the downtown area.
The Tangier hotel branch offers a diverse gastronomic selection, including the Azurita restaurant, which mixes Spanish and Moroccan cuisine, and the Bellavista buffet restaurant. It also has four bars named Champs, Blue, Breeze, and B-Heaven.
In addition, the hotel includes four conference rooms that can accommodate up to 600 people.
As the Spanish hotel firm with the largest presence in Morocco, Barceló Hotel Group maintains six hotels and 1,200 rooms in the country’s major cities, including Tangier, Casablanca, Marrakech, Fez, and Agadir.
In recent years, the hotel group has invested more than $71.4 million in the acquisition, renovation, and repositioning of many locations in the North African country.
Last year, the Spanish hotel chain announced the reopening of the Allegro Agadir after a $6.1 million refurbishment.
In January 2019, the Barceló Hotel Group invested more than $35.7 million in the acquisition of the Barceló Palmeraie, a 5-star resort with 252 rooms, located north of Marrakech.
In November 2018, the firm inaugurated the Barceló Anfa Casablanca, a 5-star hotel with 206 rooms on Boulevard Anfa, Casablanca’s main business and financial artery.
