Casablanca – Compared to the same period in 2019, Moroccan airports almost recovered their pre-health-crisis passenger rate from February 7 to the end of May 2022, Morocco’s National Airports Office (ONDA) reported on July 1.

With 5,398,030 passengers handled and 50,881 airport movements handled across all airports, these “largely positive” rates were 73% for passengers and 83% for airport movements, according to ONDA.

Casablanca Mohammed V airport handled a major portion of these flows (2,005,511 passengers on 19,458 flights), with recovery rates of roughly 70% and 75%, respectively.

This recovery rate is greater than or equal to 100% for airports in the North and Oriental: Tangier: 103%, Oujda: 123%, Nador: 99%. It also improves for other airports, including Fez: 85%, Marrakech: 63%, and Agadir: 69%.

According to ONDA statistics, domestic traffic has also recovered at a pace of 67% from the resumption of flights to May 31, 2022, with 602,341 passengers received.
