Rabat – Morocco’s cultural diversity, scenic landscapes, and world-class tourist resorts continue to attract visitors from different places and backgrounds, including celebrities in a wide range of fields.
A great number of celebrities have traveled to the North African country this year, sharing stunning pictures of their short or long stays with thousands — sometimes millions — of followers on various social media platforms.
The list of first-rate celebrities who visited the country this year spans different domains, including cinema, football, and even politics.
Here are some of the top celebrities who have so far visited Morocco in 2022:
PSG Superstar Kylian Mbappe
The summer heat did not prevent Paris Saint Germain’s superstar Kylian Mbappe from enjoying his holiday in the red city of Marrakech.
In June, Mbappe shared a picture that captured the moment when he was cooling himself in a giant swimming pool in a luxurious hotel in Marrakech.
“Finally,” Mbappe captioned his picture, celebrating the end of a long season with his club.
Shailene Woodley, the Sunshine in ‘The Fault in Our Stars’
In June of this year, 30-year-old American actress Shailene Woodley shared a photo of herself enjoying a sun batch in Morocco.
“Morocco, you’re incredible,” she wrote. But the actress also spoke about the “sneaky hidden steps” everywhere, saying she had suffered an injury in her ankle due to the steps.
Woodley is mostly known for the Fault in Our Stars, arguably the most celebrated of her numerous Hollywood hits.
Riyad Mahrez, the Pride of Algeria
In addition to Mbappe, Algerian international football player Riyad Mahrez is also fond of vacationing in the city of Marrakech. Less than a week after winning the Premier League title with Manchester City last season, the Algerian player traveled to the Moroccan city to relax and enjoy himself by spending some well-deserved quality time with his family.
Mahrez shared a series of Instagram stories and pictures, documenting a family trip in the red city.
His wife, English model Taylor Ward, also shared moments of pleasure with her followers during the Marrakech trip.
Liam Hemsworth, Hollywood’s Charming Face
June appears to be Moroccan tourism’s luckiest number this year as a series of stars visited the country that month.
Hollywood’s Australian actor Liam Hemsworth stunned his followers with a photo in Morocco’s blue pearl, Chefchaouen, along with his friend and award-winning Americana actress Laura Dern.
Liam is known for many of his Hollywood movies, but gained momentum for his role in the Hunger Games.
Lucy Hale, One of the ‘Pretty Little Liars’
Again in June, Hollywood sweetheart Lucy Hale visited Morocco, and she took dozens of pictures in different dazzling and colorful dresses in the city of Marrakech.
Known for her primary role in the famous TV series Pretty Little Liars, the American actress also visited the Yves Saint Laurent Museum in Marrakech and enjoyed a series of trips in the surrounding regions of the red city.
The Bright Wedding of US Adrian Grenier
Also in June, US actor Adrian Grenier chose the Atlas Mountains in Morocco to celebrate his wedding with his partner Jordan Roemelle.
Grenier posted Instagram pictures from the ceremony, saying that he had always been romantic.
“In fact, I declared to my mother at the mere age of 8: Mom, I am a one-woman man!” he said.
Grenier’s partner also celebrated the couple’s wedding on her Instagram, emphasizing her pride to be his wife.
“I am so proud of our journey. I am elated to call you my husband and to live a life infused with our endless magic,” the actor’s partner said on Instagram.
The Trump-Kushner Trip
The month of July also marked another visit to Morocco of Donald Trump’s daughter Ivanka Trump and her husband’s and ex-White House senior adviser Jared Kushner.
The couple took photos in different areas across Morocco, including the southern Moroccan resort city of Dakhla.
The most stunning and celebrated photo of that trip was Ivanka’s photo in Melhfa, the traditional clothing commonly donned by Moroccan Sahrawi women. The photo shows Ivanka posing near the mesmerizing beach in Dakhla.
Atletico Madrid’s Diego Simeone ‘Unforgettable’ Family Trip
Atletico Madrid’s coach Diego Simeone, his wife, and two daughters enjoyed in April a family trip to Marrakech during which they enjoyed a camel ride.
Simeone and wife, Carla Peryera, a model and a TV show host, both shared photos of their family’s vacation in the Moroccan city.
“Magical and unforgettable afternoon,” Pereyra wrote in one of her photos’ captions.
Spotting Ellen DeGeneres
In May, Marrakech also hosted American comedian and television host Ellen de-Generes who was spotted enjoying her vacation in Marrakech along with her partner Prtia de Rossi.
