Rabat – Morocco’s Mohammed VI Polytechnic University (UM6P) will hold the QS Africa Forum from 1-2 September at its Africa Business School in Rabat. The event is held in partnership with QS Quacquarelli Symonds, a UK-based educational agency.

Organized under the theme “Building Brand Africa in Higher Education – Strengths and Opportunities to Reimagine Futures,” the forum will highlight positive experiences in the field of higher education in the continent, showcase the transformative potential of education in Africa, as well as examine best practices for the future of education in the continent.

“Africa has the youngest population and the fastest growing middle class in the world, particularly in the sub-Saharan region,” said Ashwin Fernandes, Regional Director of QS for Africa. “This has led to unprecedented growth in the demand for quality higher education, which is set to continue until 2050 and beyond.”

Fernandes stressed the importance of the event in bringing leadership to the region amid deepening global challenges as a result of the pandemic and the Ukraine war.

“Now more than ever, Africa’s higher education is called upon to accompany the continent’s endless potential through empowering its youth,” said UM6P’s President Hicham El Habti. “Such promising potential warrants the establishment of a Brand Africa in higher education.”

UM6P under El Habti’s leadership has adopted a pan-African vision and pledged to help the continent fulfill its potential in various fields.

The university has hosted various African events over the past months, focusing on all fields from business investments and startup culture to scientific research in agriculture.
