Rabat – Maroc Telecom, Morocco’s national telecommunication company, currently offers the best internet experience in the country, according to the market insights firm OpenSignal.

In a report published earlier this month, the research firm explained that Maroc Telecom currently provides the highest Download and Upload Speed Experience by a wide margin compared to the other two telecommunication service providers in the country.

Maroc Telecom clients have access to an average download speed of 37.1 Mbps, 61.2 to 81.7% faster than the average download speeds for Inwi clients (23 Mbps) and Orange clients (20.4 Mbps), says the report.

Maroc Telecom also provides its customers with the fastest overall upload speeds at 9.7 Mbps, 33.9% to 46.4% more optimal than those reported byInwi clients (7.2 Mbps) and Orange (6.6 Mbps).

In addition to upload and download speeds, Maroc Telecom clients enjoyed the best video experience compared to that provided by Inwi and Orange.

With a score of 54.8 out of 100, Maroc Telecom landed 10 points ahead of its market peers. Orange and Inwi landed a statistically tied score of 44.1 and 44.8 respectively, the report added.

Regarding internet availability, the proportion of time users remain connected to high-quality internet. Inwi and Maroc Telecom both claimed the title for best internet availability falling within a 95.5-96.2% range, while Orange fell behind with a 95% internet availability score, the report noted.

The report further provided data on internet consistency in Morocco, detailing that Maroc Telecom also comes top in terms of providing the minimum recommended thresholds to watch HD videos, group video conference calls, and play games.
