Speaking at a hybrid event to launch the 15th edition of the GII, this Thursday in Geneva, Morocco’s Minister of Industry and Trade Ryad Mezzour recalled the country’s approach to intellectual property (IP) and innovation.
“Industrial property is more than ever considered a real lever for growth and a must-have for development and economic recovery,” he said.
Mezzour further noted that “our vision for 2035, through the Moroccan Office of Industrial and Commercial Property (OMPIC), is that Industrial and Commercial Property should be at the service of a productive, innovative and inclusive national economy.”
“The Ministry of Industry and Trade aims, through OMPIC, to make available to young creators and innovators and SMEs, a set of tools and programs to support them to take advantage of their creations through the protection and enhancement of their industrial property as well as through the development of their skills and providing monitoring services and information in this field,” he concluded.
