The Moroccan squad is set to face India, the USA, and Brazil in the first round of the World Cup. The event is set to take place in Bhubaneswar, Goa, and Navi Mumbai from October 11 to 30.
In preparation for the international tournament, the Moroccan Lionesses are set to play a friendly match against Chile on Wednesday, October 5.
According to the Moroccan Royal Federation of Football, the national team is set to dedicate the upcoming days to training. The first training session is scheduled for this evening to brush off the players’ fatigue after two long flights and an overnight stay in Doha, Qatar.
On October 6, the Moroccan team will fly to Bhubaneswar to join the world’s best U17 women’s football teams.
After a four year-hiatus, FIFA U-17 Women’s World Cup returns this year. FIFA and India appear to be excited and well-prepared for the tournament.
“We are very happy that, also for the first time, VAR technology will be used at a FIFA U-17 Women’s World Cup,” says FIFA’s Head of Referees for Women’s Football Kari Seitz. “This event will be another great opportunity to showcase the skills of the appointed VARs and continue the development of our female VARs as part of the Road to Australia/New Zealand 2023 project.”
As the much-anticipated youth football event is approaching, the Moroccan squad is under rising pressure after they recently lost 2-1 in a friendly match against Portugal.
