Casablanca – The Spanish low-cost airline Volotea has launched a new route that will link Bilbao, an industrial port city in northern Spain, with Marrakech starting next year.
According to the Spanish digital tourism newspaper Preferente, the route will start operating on May 27, 2023.
The new route hopes to operate with weekly flights, allowing the company to provide around 6,200 tickets throughout the summer months of 2023, with 40 flights over the summer months.
The new connection between the countries makes Morocco one of the 14 destinations available from Bilbao, among Alicante, Athens, Coruña, Cagliari, and others.
“This innovative itinerary demonstrates the latent demand to connect medium-sized cities,” General Director of Strategy at Volotea Gabriel Schmilovich, cited the Spanish news outlet.
The director elaborated that his company “will continue working to present new connections for next summer and increasingly increase the possibilities of connection from Bilbao.”
