Rabat- The German city of Syke organized on Tuesday, a reception in honor of Moroccan, German and Israeli students who took part in a German exchange program focused on environmental protection and climate.
The German Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs Katja Keul attended the event alongside advisers of Morocco’s Embassy in Berlin and Morocco’s Honorary Consul in Bremen Volker Kröning.
The students include a group of eight Moroccan students from the city of Al Hoceima, representing the National School of Applied Sciences (ENSA), the Faculty of Science and Technology (FST), and Al Badissi and Moulay Ali Cherif high schools.
According to the program’s organizers, the purpose of this initiative is to “promote living together among the group of young people, and strengthen the idea of international understanding”.
Katja Keul said that this event is “a concrete example of international understanding through the exchange of young people,” highlighting the importance of networking as a way to find solutions to current challenges.
According to Keul, it is important to have committed young people who are able to provide ideas that are as sustainable and peaceful as possible, noting that CO2 emissions from industrialized countries are causing dramatic consequences, worsening global warming in countries that have contributed the least.
Volker Kröning, Morocco’s Honorary Consul in Bremen said that the event brings together young people from Morocco, Israel and Germany as part of the project to promote relations between countries and religions.
