Rabat – France-based brand Helas has debuted its 2022 winter collection, featuring a line-up of vintage World Cup jerseys including one for Morocco.
The brand’s version of the Moroccan red and green jersey for the World Cup is made of polyester and features red and white stripes with a V neckline. The brand’s name “Helas” is also embroidered at the center of the jersey, to the left of the woven patch logo of the Moroccan Royal Football Federation (FRMF).
The Paris-based brand also paid tribute to Algeria, the US, Brazil and some European countries among others. The jerseys are retailing for €55 on Helas’ website.
This winter, Helas, which first started as an exclusive-hat brand, has expanded its collection to include t-shirts, sweatshirts, hoodies, and denim.
The brand was founded by three skateboarders, Lucas Puig, Clement Brunel, and Stephen Khou, who found inspiration on a rainy day in London. That moment inspired the brand’s umbrella logo, which pays tribute to the rainy English weather and the brand’s name means “unfortunately,” reflecting an expression of disappointment.

Unlike the rainy and cloudy British weather, the Moroccan team is expected to play under Qatar’s blazing sun. The Atlas Lions last week headed to Doha to prepare for the tournament. The team will wear a Puma retro jersey inspired by the 1998-Atlas Lions home kit.
In May, Puma released the official kit featuring “100% recycled” material and “ultraweave performance fabric and dryCell sweat-wicking technology.”
In addition to the national squad, Moroccan fans have purchased the official kit to provide moral support to the team. Pictures and videos showing Moroccan fans wearing the jersey during celebrations in Doha have gone viral on social media over the past few days.
