Rabat – Celebrating Morocco’s performance against Belgium is not limited to Moroccans and Moroccan media. The Moroccan spectacular win against the Red Devils made international headlines today.

Spanish media celebrated Morocco’s win against Belgium, with Mundo Deportivo describing the victory as “historic.”

“Sabiri and Aboukhlal materialized a historic victory for Morocco against the team,”  Mundo Deportivo wrote.

The victory was more than just a win it was the way the team executed it, the Spanish news outlet said, applauding the performance of the national team against Belgium’s biggest names, including Eden Hazard, Kebin de Bruyne, and even Romelu Lukaku.

Meanwhile, Marca celebrated the Atlas lions’ comeback following a 0-0 draw with Croatia on Wednesday.

“At last, Morocco showed its paw…Moroccans have good players. Sometimes disconnected from each other, but they are capable of blowing up any game,” Marca reported.

Morocco has shown that it is capable of moving the game “forward,” the Spanish news outlet said, stressing that the Atlas Lions have all that they need to be in the 16 round, 1986 was the last time the team qualified 36 years ago.

The Atlas Lions celebrated today’s win but they know that they still have another match to win to achieve their dream. Head coach Walid Regragui said that today’s win showed how his team is capable of doing everything.

“Football is all about efficiency,” the coach said, emphasizing that the national team has not accomplished anything yet. Regragui and the Atlas Lions are determined to put in more effort in their next match against Canada on December 1.

Morocco is in Group F along with Belgium, Croatia, and Canada. The Atlas Lions played their opening game with Croatia and finished the game with a 0-0 tie.
