Rabat – After the fierce Morocco-Belgium game on Sunday ended in an outstanding 2-0 win for Morocco, Belgian Coach Roberto Martinez said that his team “had good moments,” but they did not have any clear chances to score goals.

Talking to the press after the game, Martinez said that the Belgian team should work to understand the Sunday game moving forward into the FIFA World Cup.

Martinez further added that the first goal had set the course for Morocco’s win as Belgian players fought hard to regain their composure in the remaining time.

During the game, Morocco’s Chelsea winger Hakim Ziyech scored the first goal in the game in the 47th minute. However, VAR analysis canceled the goal.

In the 73rd minute of the game, Abdelhamid Sabiri landed Morocco a second goal, and Zakaria Aboukhlal scored the third goal in added time.

Following the game, Belgian goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois seemed to be on the receiving end of heavy criticism, as many fans are blaming him for the team’s defeat.

One Twitter user wrote: “So Courtois really conceded from the free kick? Real Madrid fans swore he was better than Ter Stegen. You just have to laugh.”

A second added: “Can everyone now please stop lying and trying to convince themselves that Courtois is better than Alisson.”

Morocco is currently at the top of Group F’s ranking, with four points. The Altas Lions are set to face Canada on December 1.
