Traffic Suspension in Rabat in Preparation for Atlas Lions' Reception

Rabat – A royal reception will be held in honor of the Atlas Lions’ significant historical accomplishment upon their arrival in Rabat today at 5 pm. Local authorities in Rabat have announced a temporary suspension of traffic and parking in several areas.

Rabat’s mayor announced on December 19 in an official memo that parking and stopping will be prohibited, from Monday midnight until Tuesday midnight on Hassan II Street from Sidi Makhlouf tunnel to Bab el Had Square, as well as on Mohammed V Street from the intersection of Hassan II Street to Assouna Mosque square.

Walking and traffic will also be prohibited in the above-mentioned areas from 17:00 to 20:00 on Tuesday, as well as on Moulay El Hassan Street from the intersection with Allal Ben Abdellah Street to Bab Rouah.

The Atlas Lions are on their way back to Morocco after leaving Qatar today. 

Soon after the Moroccan national football team lands at Rabat-Sale International Airport today, King Mohammed VI will welcomAe them and give them a royal reception in honor of their success at the 2022 Qatar World Cup.

The national team is expected to be greeted by a large crowd of supporters upon their arrival in Morocco.

Following their arrival at 5:00 p.m., the team will take a brief tour of Hassan II Street, November 16 Square, Chellah Square, King Hussein Square, Mohammed V Street, Barid Square, Mohammed V Square, January 11 Square, Moulay El Hassan Street, and Bab As Sufara before arriving at the Royal Palace.
