Rabat – After a historic journey at the Qatar World Cup, Morocco’s national football team will make their return to the country on Tuesday, with fans across Morocco eagerly anticipating the Atlas Lions’ comeback.

The Moroccan squad was set to return to the country on Monday, but their trip was postponed until Tuesday, sources told Morocco World News, adding that a big reception awaits the national team upon their arrival at the Rabat-Sale Airport.

The Atlas Lions are expected to arrive at the airport at 4:00 pm GMT+1 and make a tour across the city of Rabat, with thousands of fans lining the streets of the Moroccan capital to show their appreciation for the Moroccan squad.

The National Company of Radio and Television (SNRT) announced that they will broadcast live the welcome-back ceremony.

The Moroccan national football team produced a remarkable performance and achieved historic milestones during the global tournament, causing euphorbia among Moroccan football fans.

After not having made it past the World Cup’s group stage since 1986, the Atlas Lions finished fourth at the global tournament in Qatar, an achievement that many did not anticipate.

In particular, Morocco made history by becoming the first Arab and African nation to advance to the tournament’s semi-finals, as well as defeating and sending home some of the tournament’s early favorites.

Morocco’s unexpected heroics have made headlines around the world and were excitedly celebrated across Africa and the Arab world.

The closing ceremony of the World Cup took place yesterday, marking the coronation of Argentina as they won the tournament’s final against France.
