Rabat – King Mohammed VI sent on Sunday a message to Argentina’s President Alberto Fernandez to congratulate him and his country on the World Cup win.

Argentina defeated France on penalties to clinch the 2022 FIFA World Cup. This is the third time that Argentina has triumphed and lifted the World Cup trophy.

Commenting on the win, King Mohammed VI congratulated all of the members of the Argentinian football team, “who showed a sporting spirit, a very high competitiveness, and high technical performances,” throughout the World Cup.

The monarch also wished Argentina more achievements in football and other sports.

King Mohammed VI also sent a message to French President Emmanuel Macron, congratulating him on the French team’s second place during the World Cup.

“The French team has shown a high degree of professionalism and credibility,” the King said, stressing that the second place in the world is “very honorable for France.”

France’s football star Kylian Mbappe won the 2022 World Cup Golden Boot after scoring the most goals during the tournament.

Argentina’s star Lionel Messi, meanwhile, won the Golden Ball, while his teammate Emiliano Martinez won the Golden Glove after his penalty heroics during the match against France.

The World Cup journey ended on Sunday but marked several memorable events, including Morocco’s qualification for the semi-finals.

Morocco also secured fourth place during the World Cup following eye-catching and brilliant performances at the 2022 FIFA World Cup.
