Rabat – Moroccan stars Nora Fatehi and Manal Benchlikha performed on Sunday in the closing ceremony of the FIFA World Cup 2022 ahead of the final match between France and Argentina.
During the 15-minute closing ceremony, Nora Fatehi and Manal Benchlikha performed in an all-female line-up of Light The Sky, the official soundtrack of the 2022 FIFA World Cup.
A long list of stars joined them including Emirati singer Balqees, and Rahma Riad. The list of performers also featured Qatari singer Aisha and Nigerian Afro-pop star Davido, who performed the popular Hayya Hayya song.
The show equally featured a dazzling performance by Puerto Rican star Ozuna who took to the stage with French hip-hop artist Gims for a track that featured an Arabic vocal loop in the chorus.
Moroccan stars Manal Benchlikha and Nora Fatehi were featured in the “Light the Sky,” a song produced by Morocco’s RedOne, who served as FIFA’s creative entertainment executive.
Moroccan fans have been especially excited and thrilled about FIFA’s selection of the Moroccan trio Fatehi, Benchlikha, and RedOne.
Manal is a renowned Moroccan rapper who successfully established a name for herself in a male-dominated rap scene.
Fatehi, on the other hand, is a Moroccan-Canadian Bollywood actress, who also never misses an opportunity to show pride in her Moroccan roots.
The match between Argentina and France is set to take place at 4 p.m. Morocco time. French President Emmanuel Macron is set to be present for the final match.
A crowd of 88,000 spectators is expected to join the football spectacle cheering for their favorite teams.
