Rabat – Last year a woman from Mali was flown to Morocco to receive better medical care so she could have her record-breaking nine babies (nonuplets). The family has safely returned home to Mali today from Morocco.
The nonuplets broke a Guinness World Record for the most babies delivered in a single birth when 25 year-old Halima Cisse became mum to five girls and four boys.
The babies had to have close monitoring as they were premature; they lived in an accommodation specially equipped for them with medical professionals on hand to help.
Following the specialist medical care which was partly carried out in Casablanca, the family has since received the all-clear to return home.
On the nonuplet’s first birthday their father Abdelkader Arby said each of the babies has a unique personality. The proud father mentioned that some are quieter than others, while others want more affection.
Arby said that as a family they have become famous in Mali and that locals could not wait to see the babies in person.
There have been no other recordings of nonuplets since the Arby family.
