Rabat- The Moroccan National Commission for the Control of the Protection of Personal Data (CNDP) launched at Morocco’s National Library on December 9 “Koun3labal,” a platform dedicated to the protection of privacy and personal data processing in Morocco and Africa.

The platform aims to raise awareness among children, adolescents, women, parents, and teachers about the dangers and risks surrounding digital privacy, as well as means of protection and legal remedies, according to CNDP’s press release.

The platform also aspires to establish itself as a go-to source for guides, best practices, and educational resources using various types of media and artistic creations such as drawings, educational videos, and educational games.

Additionally, it seeks to promote research and development in the fields of personal data protection and digital privacy, as well as to provide tools to civil society and stakeholders to better target and sensitize young people and women in their communities.

The event, which is on the Secretary-General of the United Nations’ calendar, is part of the activities held during the annual international campaign “The 16 Days of Activism against gender-based violence.”

It is organized in collaboration with the United Nations development system in Rabat, as well as national partner institutions such as the Ministry of National Education, Preschool, and Sports, and the Ministry of Youth, Culture, and Communication, among others.

CNDP has launched a series of ambitious digitization projects aimed at protecting private data.

In May, CNDP signed two partnership agreements aimed at protecting personal data with authorities from Chad and Niger.

The commission also signed a multilateral partnership agreement aiming to boost data security in the country with Morocco’s national police department (DGSN), the country’s central bank, Bank Al-Maghrib (BAM), the National Commission for the Control of Personal Data Protection (CNDP), and GBPM.
