Rabat – Italian football giant Napoli is interested in signing Morocco’s football player Walid Cheddira.

Converging reports said that Napoli “has the best chance of buying him [Cheddira] despite the many clubs interested” in the football player.

Italian transfer market webpage Calcio Mercato applauded Cheddira’s performances with Italian club, Bari, stressing that the Moroccan football player is “doing great things in Serie B.”

In addition to his appearances with Bari, Cheddira performed spectacularly with Morocco’s national football team during the 2022 FIFA World Cup.

The Atlas Lions finished as a semi-finalist during the World Cup after brilliant performances against formidable teams, including Spain, Portugal, France, Canada, Croatia, and Belgium.

The national team earned respect and admiration from millions of fans across the world as well as public figures.

Cheddira along with Morocco’s national football team also received royal medals from King Mohammed VI as well as a spectacular homecoming ceremony following their return from Qatar.

The Atlas Lions’ performance attracted many international clubs, who showed interest in signing Moroccan football players.

French news outlet l’Equipe recently said that many football clubs are interested in signing Azzedine Ounahi, including Napoli.

“At the opening of the transfer market, it is Napoli that seems the most advanced club to sign the Moroccan revelation of the World Cup in Qatar,” the same news outlet said.
Many other clubs also expressed interest in signing other Atlas Lions, including Sofyan Amrabat and Yassine Bounou.
