Rabat – Palestine’s Ministry of Health on Monday announced that Israeli forces have killed 14-year-old Palestinian Khaled Lutfi Khmour during a raid in the southern part of the West Bank.
The teenage boy suffered a serious injury after Israeli troops shot him in the head on Monday morning during a raid on the Dheisheh refugee camp, located south of Bethlehem city.
The Palestinian boy, who was transferred to the local hospital in critical condition, “succumbed to his wounds,” the Palestinian ministry said.
The Palestinian News & Information Agency (WAFA) reported “Palestinian security forces” as saying that Israeli troops stormed the camp early in the morning, leading to confrontations with young Palestinians.
The soldiers forced their way into several houses to arrest a number of activists, and ended up detaining a 24-year-old Palestinian after breaking into his house, WAFA added.
Israel’s military said that its forces opened fire after “suspects hurled rocks, explosive devices and Molotov cocktails at the soldiers,” the Guardian reported.

Videos have emerged on social media of violent altercations between Israeli soldiers and young Palestinians at the Dheisheh refugee camp.
Khmour’s killing enraged Palestinians in the West Bank, with many taking to the streets to protest and condemn Israeli forces’ brutality.
Holding photos of the Palestinians that were recently killed by Israeli forces, students from Birzeit University in the West Bank also protested the 14-year-old’s killing. They also expressed their deep sorrow for and condemnation of Israel’s continuous abuses.
Khmour is the fourth Palestinian child Israeli forces have killed since the start of 2023, WAFA indicated, adding that a total of 14 Palestinians have been killed by the Israeli army so far this year.
