Rabat – Bayt Mal Al Qods Agency, a Moroccan agency dedicated to raising donations and mobilizing aid for the Holy City of Al-Quds (Arabic for Jerusalem), carried out 200 “major” projects and dozens of small and medium projects between 2000 and 2022.
Speaking at the Maghreb Arab Agency (MAP) Forum on Tuesday, the Director Manager of the agency, Mohamed Salem Echarkaoui, said that the projects, which cost $64 million (MAD 657.5 million), have benefited all segments of Al Quds residents.
The projects covered several sectors, including housing, health, and education. They also included social assistance projects for the disadvantaged segments of society, including orphans, widows, the elderly, and disabled people.
The MAP Forum was organized under the theme: “The Bayt Mal Al-Quds Acharif Agency: 25 years of actions in the service of Al-Quds and Maqdessis,” with the aim of highlighting the agency’s efforts to achieve socio-economic development.

Echarkaoui added that the agency established the “Children for Al-Qods” club, which organizes programs and activities for children, including summer camps and competitions.
Founded by the late King Hassan II, Bayt Mal Al Qods Agency is dedicated to carrying out social projects in Al-Quds, protecting the holy city, and preserving its religious and cultural heritage.
Last month, the agency announced ratifying $1 million (MAD 10.1 million) in funds to support its already existing initiatives, as well as supporting orphans and families in need.
