Rabat – A series of videos showing police beating civilians, including the elderly, children, and women in France has gone viral online.

One of the videos shows police using excessive force against civilians, who were protesting peacefully against the pension reforms in France.

The video shows police using their batons violently and arbitrarily to attack unarmed people demonstrating against Macron’s unpopular pension reforms.

Many citizens took to social media to condemn France’s brutality, describing the excessive use of force as a “terrible repression” from the French government.

“Macron’s police beat students, women, and the elderly who dare to demonstrate. Some journalists were also affected. Macron is a real criminal,” one Twitter user wrote.

Actor Antonio Sabato JR joined the chorus condemning France’s brutality, by sharing one of the footage documenting police violence against demonstrators.

Many have questioned rights NGOs and Western media’s silence over the ongoing police violence against demonstrators.

“French police beating a woman. Again Western media and Human Rights organisations are silent because this has happened in a western country,” one observer argued.

Another troubling video that went viral documented a police officer riding a motorcycle and running over one of the demonstrators in the streets of Paris.

The footage shows two protestors running in the street while being chased by two uniformed police officers, on motorbikes.
When one of the protestors seemingly fell to the ground, a police officer was recorded running over him.

Protests continue across the European country to demonstrate against the pensioner reforms. French media said over 800 people have been arrested during the protests.
