Rabat – Publishing house Premiere Ligne Editions has published a book titled “Epic of the Atlas Lions,” paying tribute to the Moroccan national team’s achievements during the 2022 World Cup in Qatar.
“This beautiful 220-page book traces all the stages of that magical month of December 2022 and the national and global impacts of these footballing achievements,” said the publishers in a press release.
The book addresses four main themes, including the “Epic of a Brave Team,” which highlights the outstanding performance of the talented Moroccan squad, which “marked́ the history of Moroccan football.”
“From friendly matches to the third-place playoff, the Atlas Lions completed an exceptional journey marked by significant moments,” added the statement.
The second section of the book highlights the “extraordinary values” that the national team taught the world. “Beyond the sport, the Atlas Lions conveyed magnificent messages and values that moved the whole world,” indicated the statement.
The publishers argued that the Moroccan players presented an honorable image of Morocco, with their performances and attitude reflecting the fundamentals of Islam and Moroccan culture.

The book dedicated the third section to the passion that Moroccan football fans displayed throughout the sporting event. Described by FIFA as Morocco’s “12th player,” Moroccan supporters played a crucial role in the national team’s achievements during the Qatar World Cup.
While thousands of fans flew to Qatar to support the Atlas Lions and celebrate their heroics, others flocked to the streets of Moroccan cities to celebrate the successive victories of the team.
After their fairytale run in Qatar, the Moroccan squad received an unforgettable welcome from thousands of fans upon their arrival in Morocco.
Meanwhile, the third and final section of the book highlighted the global attention that Morocco received during the Qatar World Cup, noting that prominent figures, including Elon Musk and Heads of State, congratulated the national team on their outstanding performance.
In addition, Morocco’s victories stole the spotlight, with the Atlas Lions’ wins taking over media headlines worldwide for managing to defeat and send home some of the world’s most revered football teams, including Belgium, Spain, and Portugal.
Morocco’s national team made history during the global tournament in Qatar, becoming the first Arab and African team to reach the World Cup.
