Rabat – Spanish football club Atletico Madrid is interested in signing Morocco’s Atlas Lion Abdessamad Ezzalzouli this summer.
Spanish sports news outlet Sport said that Atletico Madrid is keeping a close eye” on the football player’s performances with Osasuna.
Barcelona is also “prioritizing” Ezzalzouli’s return to the Camp Nou, the Spanish news outlet said.
Barcelona loaned Ezzalzouli to Osasuna in 2022 on a season-long deal. The loan came after Barcelona signed the Atlas Lion in 2021.
While Barcelona is ready for Ezzalzouli’s return, the Spanish football club “does not rule out” a sale deal during the next transfer window.
“The Moroccan [football player] is completing an excellent season with Osasuna,” Sport added.
Ezzalzouli made 22 appearances with Osasuna, including 18 during the Spanish football league, also known as La Ligua. The four other appearances were during Copa del Rey.
Throughout the competitions with Osasuna, Ezzalzouli scored four goals, three of which were made during Copa Del Rey.
In addition to his performances with Osasuna, the Atlas Lion also made eye-catching appearances during the 2022 World Cup with Morocco’s national team.
The Atlas Lions finished as semi-finalists during the World Cup, earning worldwide respect and support.
The Atlas Lion played three games with Morocco during the FIFA World Cup. He also played two friendly games with Morocco.
