Rabat – Morocco’s head coach Walid Regragui is set to announce on March 13 at 11:00 a.m., details about who will be playing for the Moroccan team in the upcoming friendly between the Atlas Lions and Brazil, a press release from Morocco’s Royal Football Federation FRMF has disclosed.
The upcoming match will be hosted at Tangier’s Grand Stadium.
Brazil is already warming up for the friendly game against Morocco, as converging reports detail that the team will be carrying out five training sessions prior to the March 25 kick-off.
Brazil already announced its squad that will play the Atlas Lions. Morocco last played Brazil in a World Cup event in 1998, with Brazil winning 3-0.
Following their friendly match against a star-studded Brazilian team, Morocco’s Atlas Lions will play another friendly game against Peru in Madrid on March 28.
The two games come in the aftermath of Morocco’s historic run at the 2022 World Cup in Qatar, where the Atlas Lions made history by becoming the first African and Arab national team to reach the last four of the World Cup.
While the historic achievement has won Morocco some much-needed respect and admiration in world football, Moroccan fans’ hope is for their national team to build on their World Cup performances to win the next Africa Cup of Nations and remain a formidable opponent in other international tournaments to come.
