Rabat – Justin Wilson, the mayor of Alexandria, Virginia, welcomed Moroccan small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) that wished to invest in the city or sought partnerships with American businesses, opening up opportunities for Moroccan investors to enhance their economic presence in the city.

The mayor said that Alexandria offers a wide range of opportunities for investment and business partnerships and that he is committed to assisting local businesses.

The Alexandria mayor made the remarks on the sidelines of a recently held meeting organized by the Moroccan American Network, which aims to promote networking between Moroccan SMEs and their American counterparts.

The meeting brought together Moroccan and American professionals in the fields of finance and business.

The event featured a presentation of several successful experiences of Moroccan investors in the US, as well as a thorough overview of the economic climate and the various options available, like the GSA Schedule, a long-term, government-wide contract that welcomes businesses of all sizes.

President of the Moroccan American Network Mohamed El Hajjam said that the event offered a forum for discussion on the state and prospects of small and medium-sized businesses in the US.

El Hajjam also expressed his appreciation for Mayor Wilson, who is willing to support Moroccan investors who wish to make investments in the city or form partnerships with American counterparts.

US-Morocco business cooperation

El Hajjam noted that the Moroccan-American Network organized the meeting as part of its efforts to increase the Moroccan business presence in the US, strengthen bilateral ties, and broaden collaboration between economic actors from the two nations.

The Moroccan American Network is a network dedicated to expanding opportunities for small businesses in the US, Morocco, and Africa. The network has launched several initiatives to promote Morocco and advance ties between the two countries.

The Moroccan-American Network also holds an annual celebration of Morocco Day, an event that aims to encourage bilateral collaboration between American and Moroccan businesses, especially small and medium enterprises.

Morocco Day’s annual event regularly attracts entrepreneurs, public figures, academics, and analysts interested in enhancing Morocco-US relations.

In October 2022, the network established the US-Morocco Chamber of Commerce and Investment Promotion in an effort to encourage diaspora members and US business people to invest in Morocco.
