Rabat – Samsung Morocco and the Moroccan Ministry of National Education, Preschool, and Sports have joined hands to launch the fourth edition of the Samsung Innovation Campus (SIC) program in Morocco.

The program aims to promote digital education and innovation in the country’s education sector by providing practical and innovative training to 240 teachers from all 12 regions of the country.

The launch was announced in a meeting attended by the Minister of National Education, Preschool, and Sports, Chakib Benmoussa; and the President of Samsung Electronics Maghreb Arab (SEMAG), James Kim. Both parties reaffirmed their commitment to supporting the digitalization of education in Morocco.

The meeting also discussed the current challenges facing the Moroccan education system and how the SIC program can contribute to its development, said a press release.

Benmoussa suggested accelerating the programs’ rollout so that all computer science teachers can benefit from the Samsung Innovation Campus and its technological innovations.

For his part, James Kim, expressed his satisfaction with the partnership, stating that it “continues to serve the national education system.”

“Thanks to Samsung Innovation Campus, we are enabling teachers from different regions of the kingdom to have access to the latest trends in new information technologies,” Kim said, stressing that this fourth edition reaffirms Samsungs’ commitment to developing Morocco’s education system.

Since 2019, the program has succeeded in enhancing the computer literacy of more than 10,000 students with the help of 211 teacher trainers deployed at nine “well-equipped centers, each furnished with over 500 computers and TVs,” noted the statement.

It concluded that the program had conducted a total of 1,001 workshops to enhance the coding abilities of students.
