Rabat – The trial of Moroccan plastic Surgeon El Hassan Tazi’s case is set to start on Thursday, April 13, the National Company of Radio and Television (SNRT) reported on Monday.
The case dates back to April 2022, when authorities arrested the Moroccan doctor, his wife, his brother, and a number of employees from his clinic for their alleged involvement in fraud and human trafficking.
The King’s public prosecutor in Casablanca determined the date for the beginning of the trial sessions after a year-long investigation, which included interrogations of the suspects and witnesses, as well as confrontations.
The decision comes after the Council Chamber reindicted the suspects on charges of “fraud, complicity in fraud, and falsification of documents and their use” after the investigating judge dropped them from the other charges Tazi was facing.
Following the “interrogations and confrontations of all parties involved,” the public prosecutor reviewed the findings of the investigating judge and decided to appeal his decision to drop the above-mentioned charges, added SNRT.

The case was then referred to the Council Chamber, which then referred it to the Criminal Chamber for the final phase of the pre-trial investigation.
Tazi and his accomplices, who work at a private clinic in Casablanca, are facing charges of involvement in creating a criminal network aimed at collecting money from benefactors.
The suspects are accused of embezzling charity money by falsifying documents and fraudulently inflating hospitalization bills for destitute patients treated in the clinic.
Tazi took to social media last year to respond to the accusations and rebuke the claims. “Hear from me, not about me. Rumors are created by haters, spread by fools, and accepted by idiots,” he said.
The case has caused widespread controversy in Morocco, especially since Tazi, one of the most famous plastic surgeons in Morocco, is known for his charity work, such as helping poor people who cannot afford surgery costs.
He has featured in several television programs where he performed surgeries on people who have been in accidents and have injuries such as burn scars, as well as fat loss surgery.
