Rabat – Marrakech featured this year among the cities that are becoming increasingly popular among the world’s super-wealthy, according to research from the consultancy firm Henley & Partners (H&P).
Marrakech appeared on the list alongside Dubai and Kigali as emerging cities in the Middle East and Africa for the ultra-wealthy.
H&P research indicated that the three cities have experienced “strong wealth growth” over the past decade separating 2012 and 2022.
In a report, H&P explains that Marrakech is becoming “an increasingly popular retirement hotspot for Moroccan and European high-net-worth individuals. Marrakech is also home to flourishing luxury real estate and hotel sectors.”
H&P data suggests that the number of super-wealthy individuals residing in Marrakech grew by 55% between 2012 and 2022. The Moroccan city is now home to 900 millionaires, 8 centi-millionaires (individuals with a network of $100 million), and two billionaires.
