Rabat – Moroccan football player Abdessamad Ezzalzouli will return to play with Spanish football club FC Barcelona the next season, after finishing his loan spell with Osasuna.
According to reports from Spanish news outlet Mundo Deportivo, Barcelona’s management and head coach Xavi Hernandez are working to keep Ezzalzouli as part of their squad.
Following impressive performances with Osasuna, the Moroccan forward captivated the club’s coaches, who see him as an interesting ‘reinforcement’ for next season, the report explains.
Barcelona “have been closely monitoring him” before coming to the conclusion that Ezzalzouli is a “valuable asset on the left wing because he is a pure winger.”
The report further indicates that Ezzalzouli will return for at least the preseason with Xavi, adding that the coach made it clear he desires for the Moroccan international to stay with the club.
Ezzalzouli is already sparking interest from major European football clubs. Reports from Spanish media have speculated that he received a €30 million offer from Nottingham Forest.
FC Barcelona expects to receive more offers for the young player.
Ezzalzouli’s outstanding performances with Spanish club Osasuna have impressed Xavi Hernandez.
The footballer helped his current club land a 2-1 win against Elche during a La Liga game earlier this month.
Commenting on Ezzalzouli’s performances, Xavi said: “Abde is making the most of his loan, he’s making a difference and we’re very happy with him. At Barca, you need players at that level.”
“Abde can be important for us,” the coach added.
