Rabat – International media has praised the remarkable form of Moroccan footballer Youssef En-Nesyri, who currently plays as a striker for La Liga club FC Sevilla.
Since his stellar performance with Morocco at the 2022 Qatar World Cup, En-Nesyri has caught the attention of football fans worldwide for his strong performance during his club’s latest games.
On April 20, the Spanish club locked horns with Premier League team Manchester United in the second leg of the Europa League’s quarter finals. The game ended with Sevilla convincingly winning 3-0, with two of the goals being scored by En-Nesyri.
Sevilla started the game in perfect style thanks to the Atlas Lion, who scored his team’s opening goal in the eighth minute.
Two minutes into the second half, Loic Bade scored the second, with En-Nesyri scoring his second and his team’s third goal in the 81st minute.
Sports outlet ESPN highlighted En-Nesyri’s impressive performance saying: “En-Nesyri wrapped up the win in the 81st minute after United goalkeeper David De Gea failed to deal with a long ball over the top and the Morocco striker finished well to move the Spanish side closer to a record-extending seventh victory in the competition.”
In addition, The Guardian spotlighted the Moroccan player’s form and contributions to Sevilla’s win in an article titled “Sevilla’s En-Nesyri doubles up to send dismal Manchester United crashing out.”
On Sunday, Sevilla played against Villarreal as part of La Liga, Spain’s top-flight football league. Sevilla scored their first goal in minute 34, with their opponents scoring an equalizer in the 55th minute.
As the end of the match was fast-approaching, En-Nesyri saved the day with an iconic header in the 94th minute, once again dominating international headlines.
“Youssef En-Nesyri gave Sevilla FC victory against Villareal in the very last moments of the match with a furious header following a corner,” said BeIN Sports.
In addition, Sevilla fans took to social media to praise the Atlas Lion’s performance.
Given En-Neysri’s strong performance in the World Cup last year and his iconic, match-winning goals with Sevilla this season, he has been on the radars of several elite European clubs.
