Rabat – The 2023 regional baccalaureate exams for independent candidates kicked off today at regional testing centers throughout Morocco. The exams will take place between May 31 and June 3.
The first-year baccalaureate exams will be conducted in two stages, with science, technology, and vocational branches taking the exam on May 31 and June 1, whereas students in the literature major will sit for exams on June 2 and 3.
Meanwhile, independent candidates took the regional exam on May 29 and 30.
The results of the exams will be announced later in July, with the make-up session taking place on July 3 and 4 for all majors.
Morocco’s Minister of National Education, Primary Education, and Sports, Chakib Benmoussa, has stressed that his ministry had prepared all the necessary conditions to ensure the smooth conduct of all exams.
Responding to parliamentary questions at the oral question session in the House of Representatives on Monday, Benmoussa emphasized the importance of warning candidates against resorting to cheating and implementing all necessary measures to prevent academic dishonesty.

He noted that his ministry has launched awareness campaigns and coordinated with regional and security authorities to combat cheating in all its forms, notably using digital devices.
Meanwhile, the national baccalaureate exams will take place between June 6 and 8 for science, economy, and technology majors, and on June 9 and 10 for literature branches.
Around 426,000 candidates will take the national exam, representing an increase of 18% compared to last year.
The national makeup exam is scheduled between July 5 and 8 for all majors.
More than 1,700 centers will be made available for the baccalaureate exams and the grading of exam papers to take place, according to the minister.
