Rabat – Dutch football club Ajax Amsterdam is looking to secure deals with football players like its former star Hakim Ziyech.

Football Orange said Ajax’s Director of Football Sven Mislintat is now trying to hunt more football players in a bid to strengthen the squad’s skills and capabilities, following a largely disappointing season for the Amsterdam club.

“The director needs to overhaul the playing squad too and former players such as Donny van de Beek and Hakim Ziyech are the type of players they may look at recruiting, ” the football news outlet added.

Ziyech triumphed during his time at Ajax for several seasons before joining Premier League side Chelsea.

In 2019, the club named him Player of the Year. The Moroccan footballer had won the same award a year earlier, having been part of the squad that won the Netherland’s top-flight league title that season.

The performances with Ajax made Ziyech a prime target for many clubs, including his current team Chelsea.

Ziyech joined Chelsea on a five-year contract in 2020. Many, however, have expressed dissatisfaction with the player’s transfer, as he hasn’t been able to fit into the club’s system in addition to being sidelined by many managers.

Anger and frustration have been visibly growing over Ziyech being benched by several Blues coaches despite his talent and potential.

Fans also expressed anger after Chelsea failed to submit the right paperwork to Paris Saint-Germain, who had been eager to secure a deal with Ziyech in the January 2023 transfer window.

Converging reports said Chelsea failed to submit the correct paperwork to conclude the PSG loan agreement for Ziyech three times ahead of the deadline for the January transfer window, causing the Moroccan to miss out on a much-anticipated move.
In April, several reports said that PSG is still eager to sign Ziyech.

The Pride of London reported that PSG is in contact with the Atlas Lion, who is expected to leave Chelsea in the summer transfer window as the club attempt to offload some players from a bloated squad.

Ziyech made headlines in 2022 with the Moroccan national team, contributing to the squad’s triumph in the Qatar World Cup, as they became the first African and Arab team to reach the semi-finals.
