Rabat – British newspaper The Guardian has highlighted Morocco’s red city Marrakech as a must-visit destination for travelers seeking a culturally rich experience, showcasing the city’s various tourism assets that promise an unforgettable experience.

“Famous for its vibrant colour and intoxicating culture, this ancient city has something for all the senses,” said the newspaper in an article published on June 11, giving travelers insights into Marrakech’s tourist destinations and activities.

The Guardian recommended that people visit the city’s “Le Jardin Secret,” meaning the Secret Garden in English.

Divided into an exotic garden and an Islamic garden, the fascinating, newly-restored site is a place of “sublime beauty and peace,” the newspaper said.

For a taste of Moroccan elegance and relaxation, The Guardian highlighted Cafe Arabe, describing it as “Marrakech’s universally loved rooftop bar.” The cafe offers a captivating ambiance and a breathtaking view of the medina.

The travel list also includes Dar El Bacha palace, which stands as a testament to the city’s rich cultural heritage. The architectural marvel boasts intricate zellige tilework and a central courtyard adorned with fountains and orange trees.

For those seeking a taste of old-world charm, The Guardian recommends paying a visit to La Sultana with its collection of five interconnected riads.

“This maze-like oasis has treasures at every turn: artworks, antiques, palm trees, and exotic plants fill each of the ornate courtyards,” the newspaper said.

In addition, the red city’s vibrant art and cultural scene comes to life at the museum Maison de la Photographie. The museum showcases a vast archive of original photographs taken between 1879 and 1960, offering a glimpse into Morocco’s past.

Another must-visit museum in Marrakech is Musee Yves St Laurent, a tribute to the iconic fashion designer and his deep connection to Marrakech.

The red city’s charm extends beyond its landmarks, as its hotels and riads offer immersive experiences. The Guardian recommends visiting El Fenn, a “stunning” hotel located in the heart of the city, offering a mixture of art and luxury.

In addition, the article recommended visiting various cafes and restaurants that offer exquisite Moroccan delicacies and views. This includes Bacha cafe, Dar Dar restaurant, and Le Trou au Mur restaurant, among others.

Marrakech has been one of the top tourist attractions in the country, drawing visitors from around the world with its unique blend of culture, history, and nature.
