Rabat – In a significant move towards embracing digital innovation, Morocco’s Ministry of National Education, Preschool, and Sports announced on Thursday its plans to introduce a new digital technology for the production and management of baccalaureate certificates and transcripts.

According to a statement by the ministry, the implementation of this initiative is set to begin with the upcoming 2023 session.

The primary objective behind this operation is to enhance the protection of baccalaureate diplomas and transcripts against forgery while simultaneously reducing the time gap between the announcement of exam results and the delivery of the official documents to baccalaureate holders.

Additionally, the initiative aims to provide a range of digital support services that ensure secure usage of the certificate.

According to the ministry, the new system will incorporate interactive technological elements into the traditional paper diploma medium.

These elements will enable various digital services to be accessed securely through electronic devices such as mobile phones, computers, and tablets.

Additionally, individuals will have the ability to verify the authenticity of the certificate in real-time and confirm its conformity with the official records of the baccalaureate examinations.

The ministry’s statement also emphasized that the same digital techniques would be employed for printing and digitizing transcripts.

Morocco’s education system’s embrace of digitization  will not only secure baccalaureate diplomas and transcripts, but it will also give the country the capacity to offer additional digital services, including comprehensive databases and a digital archive, the ministry argued.

This project was launched in cooperation with a leading Moroccan company in this field, which is part of the Mohammed VI Polytechnic University (UM6P) ecosystem, the ministry noted without naming the company.

The digitization of the baccalaureate aligns with Morocco’s digital transformation agenda and aims to simplify administrative procedures across the country.

The introduction of a digitized baccalaureate diploma marks a pivotal moment for Morocco’s education sector. As the North African nation embraces the digital revolution, students and educational institutions alike will benefit from enhanced security measures, streamlined processes, and the convenience of digital access to important academic records.
