Rabat – Moroccan-Dutch kickboxer Badr Hari is preparing for this upcoming match against English star James McSweeney.
Despite announcing his intention to retire last year, the “Golden Boy” is returning to the ring.
Hari’s highly anticipated comeback will take place in the main event of GLORY 88, where he is scheduled to face James McSweeney on September 9, in Paris, France.
The game will also serve as a qualifier for the prestigious December GLORY Heavyweight Grand Prix.
The 36-year-old veteran fighter is determined to make a victorious return to the sport after experiencing a winless streak since 2015.
Throughout this period, Hari has faced tough competition, enduring four losses and three no-contest decisions against some of the division’s most formidable opponents, such as Rico Verhoeven, Arkadiusz Wrzosek, and fellow seasoned veteran Alistair Overeem.
On the other side of the ring, James McSweeney has also experienced his share of ups and downs in the combat sports arena.
Although he suffered five losses in mixed martial arts (MMA) fights within the same timeframe, McSweeney showcased his kickboxing prowess by securing two wins in the last four years.
He triumphed over former ONE Heavyweight title challenger and GLORY Heavyweight tournament runner-up Murat Aygün.
With Hari being the most popular fighter currently signed with GLORY, many kickboxing enthusiasts anticipate that the Moroccan will secure a spot in the prestigious Grand Prix.
