Rabat – ClimateLaunchpad Morocco is gearing up for its highly anticipated third edition bootcamp, set to take place from July 24th to July 26th, 2023, at StartGate, the start-up campus of Morocco’s Mohammed VI Polytechnic University (UM6P) in Benguerir.
The event, held as part of the Climovation accelerator, aims to promote and support high-impact climate entrepreneurship and innovation, said the organizers in a press release. Climovation is an ecosystem that fosters green entrepreneurship and innovation in clean technologies.
The organizers of the event expressed their excitement to introduce new elements to the Climovation ecosystem this year, including the organization of Climathon and the inclusion of the first scale-ups within ClimAccelerator, with an eye towards the Climate Marketplace.
In partnership with Climate-KIC and the European Institute of Innovation and Technology (EIT)’s ClimAccelerator, Climovation strives to enhance the capabilities of Moroccan and West African entrepreneurs in the field of clean technologies and the blue economy, according to the statement.
Through comprehensive training, coaching, and acceleration programs, the initiative seeks to prepare them for “successful access” to international markets, added the statement.
Highlighting the success of ATAREC, the winner of the 2021 edition, who reached the finals of the ClimateLaunchpad in the Netherlands, Oussama Nour and Mohamed Taha El Ouaryachi, the founders of ATAREC, expressed their gratitude for the deep personalized support that the ClimateLaunchpad team provided them.

They described their achievement as a “significant milestone” in the journey of ATAREC and the best possible start for their venture.
The selected participants for the ClimateLaunchpad Morocco 2023 cohort will undergo an intensive bootcamp between July 24th to July 26th, which will be followed by individualized mentoring sessions.
These phases will prepare the candidates for the national and regional finals in Africa, with the ultimate goal of securing a spot in the global finals held in the Netherlands in the fall.
As a leading green business ideas competition, ClimateLaunchpad is focused on tackling the negative impacts of climate change through innovation, invention, and entrepreneurship.
“A green future requires thousands of innovations that challenge current economic models,” emphasized the organizers, noting that the competition supports aspiring and promising clean technology entrepreneurs with training, coaching, and networking opportunities.
Launched in 2014, ClimateLaunchpad operates across more than 66 countries, aiming to foster a global sustainable future.
Moroccan entrepreneur and startup ecosystem builder Ahmed Larouz brought the competition to Morocco in 2021, in a bid to offer local green startups the necessary funding and expertise.
“ClimateLaunchpad is more than just an incubator … With the program, we aim to create a platform to inspire upcoming generations to make business with green impact,” Larouz told Morocco World News last year.
He concluded that the program targets “people who really want to be entrepreneurs with impact.”
