For the midfield, Regragui included Sofyan Amrabat, Selim Amallah, Azzedine Ounahi, and Bilal El Khannouss in addition to U23 players such as Amir Richardson, Benjamin Bouchouari, and Ismael Saibari.

The list of forwards included Amine Harit, Abdessamad Ezzalzouli, Zakaria Aboukhlal, and Youssef En-Nesyri.

Walid Cheddira, Abderrazak Hamedallah, Ibrahim Salah, Amine Adli, and Ayoub El Kaabi were also named in the squad.

The team contains experienced veterans and promising young players as Walid Regragui is hoping to create a perfect balance.

The first game of the Atlas Lions against Liberia for the 2023 African Cup of Nations (AFCON) Qualifiers will take place on September 9 in Agadir. Afterward, the team will travel to Lens to face Burkina Faso in a friendly game on September 12.
