Rabat – Morocco is entering a new era in trade with the new strategy aiming to strengthen the competitiveness of the Made in Morocco label, the country’s Trade and Industry Minister, Ryad Mezzour, said on Thursday.
In addition to boosting its profile as a manufacturing hub, the minister explained, Morocco is making efforts towards promoting the creation of sustainable high-paying jobs.
“Today, Moroccan entrepreneurs are increasingly ambitious and believe in our country’s capabilities and the potential of young talents,” he explained while speaking on the sidelines of the opening of the 4th Alpha 55 store, a Moroccan retail brand, located in the “Aeria Mall” shopping center in Casablanca,
Noting Morocco’s human capital as a valuable asset to the country’s industrial strategy, Mezzour said that “the new generation is becoming more and more educated, committed, and innovative.”
The minister also commended the civic approach of the new shopping center, while encouraging different commercial units to further promote Moroccan products that enjoy national and international recognition.
Mehdi Benghanem, CEO of Alpha 55, echoed the minister’s sentiments in his remarks during the launch of the shopping center.
The new retail shop’s location aims to strengthen Made in Morocco through a wide selection of local products that meet international standards at competitive prices, while contributing to the development of the commerce sector in Morocco, Benghanem said.
He further argued that the partnership with the Ministry of Industry and Commerce would allow both industrial and commercial aspects to be worked on over a period of three years to unlock the potential of Moroccan industries.
