Rabat – SICPA, a global provider of secured identification and authentication solutions, has signed a research project contract with MAScIR, a foundation affiliated with Morocco’s Mohammed VI Polytechnic University (UM6P).
The Moroccan foundation announced the signing of the agreement on Wednesday last week, stressing that this project will focus on the development of an innovative marking and detection solution in Morocco.
The project is part of a partnership agreement that MAScIR Foundation and SICPA announced earlier this year. It comes following a series of workshops between the two parties to develop an innovative marking and detection solution that is made in Morocco.
This solution will allow manufacturers as well as other clients to increase their technological tools to fight challenges such as fraud, counterfeiting, and non-compliance of products.
In February, SICPA and the foundation signed an agreement in the field of research and technological development.
A statement from the foundation said that the 5-year partnership outlines the terms and conditions of cooperation between the two institutions.
Both parties expressed satisfaction with the agreement, with SICPA describing the project as an opportunity to expand its technological portfolio in the fields of marking and fraud detection in the field.
Hicham El Habti, President of UM6P and the Foundation also expressed satisfaction with the agreement, reaffirming MAScIR’s commitment to science, innovation, and research.
He said that this commitment aims to meet the “current needs of the industrial fabric and economic operators to promote ‘Made in Morocco.’”
