Rabat – Morocco international football player and FC Toulouse star striker Zakaria Aboukhlal sustained a severe knee injury during his club’s opening match of the Europa League against Union Saint-Gilloise (RUSG), which ended in a 1-1 draw on Thursday.

Aboukhlal, who had already netted three goals in the current Ligue 1 season, was injured during the game against RUSG at the 40th minute of the game.

The Moroccan international was forced to leave the field, and subsequent updates from the club’s official social media accounts today confirmed the news that Aboukhlal will be sidelined for several months.

In a post on X, formerly Twitter, Toulouse FC expressed their disappointment and support for their injured attacker: “Our forward Zakaria Aboukhlal will be away from the pitch for several months…”

The club also announced that additional medical examinations will be conducted to provide a more accurate prognosis regarding the duration of the player’s absence.

Aboukhlal has been in outstanding form with Toulouse, with the Moroccan footballer holding the title of top scorer for Toulouse FC in France’s Ligue 1.
