Rabat – Olympique Marseille and Ajax Amsterdam each took one point from their 3-3 draw in the Europa League on September 21, with Amine Harit making a name for himself on the pitch with two goal contributions.

After being sidelined by former head coach Marcelino, who recently stepped down, Harit unleashed an impressive performance that had fans and the international press delighted, as he assisted Jonathan Clauss’ and Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang’s goals.

The two goals helped the French team come back from an early 2-0 deficit, as fans were satisfied with the salvaged point amid turbulent times at the club.

The first goal came in the 23rd minute with Clauss converting Harit’s outside-of-the-boot pass into a goal to reduce the deficit to 2-1.

The second goal, scored by Aubameyang in the 38th minute, enabled OM to tie the score.

Although Ajax scored a third goal in the 52nd minute, Aubameyang was able to tie the game again in the 78th minute.

“I think I have made a lot of effort to get back to this level, but I am not satisfied with it. I know that I still have a lot of work ahead of me, and that will come through a string of very good performances,” Harit told the press after the game.

“Physically, I feel better and better. I’ve come a long way, that’s for sure,” he said about his previous long injury, which sidelined him for the majority of last season. “It was not easy to manage. I had the support of the club, I had the support of my family, of those close to me … I’m not at 100% yet, but it bodes well for the future.”

OM is currently in second place in the Europa League group B standings, tied with Ajax behind group leaders AEK Athens, who managed a difficult win against Brighton and Hove Albion.
