Rabat – Saudi Arabia’s Foreign Affairs Minister, Faisal bin Fahd bin Abdullah, held a phone call today with Morocco’s Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, Nasser Bourita to discuss the increasingly alarming developments in the Gaza Strip as Israel steps up its genocidal operations in the besieged Palestinian enclave.

During the call, the two ministers discussed the developments in the critical situation in the Gaza Strip and its surroundings, according to a report from Saudi Arabia’s news agency.

The two officials equally discussed the importance of the international community taking on its role to prevent” forced displacement of the Gaza populations and to “stop the military escalation” that has increased the suffering of the beleaguered and defenseless civilian populations in the region.

Bourita and bin Abdullah further discussed possible venues for the two countries to intensify their communication with the international community to find a rapid and immediate solution to halt the escalation, deliver humanitarian aid and medical supplies, as well as establish a practical plan to find a fair, comprehensive, and just solution that meets the aspirations of the Palestinian people.

The call between the two officials comes as Israel intensifies its ground and air operations in the Gaza Strip in what is now widely referred to as a genocide.

The strip, which has been suffering under a blockade since 2007, is now facing a dire humanitarian crisis.

Reports coming out of Gaza indicate that the Palestinian enclave is sustaining internet disruptions due to the ongoing aggression.

Meanwhile, UNICEF and the World Health Organization (WHO) said they have lost contact with their staff in Gaza.

Around the world, the Israeli government’s recent announcement of extending ground operations and airstrikes in Gaza is raising concerns about the potential of a full-scale invasion.

Many in the international community are sounding the alarm bell over the humanitarian crisis in the Gaza Strip, calling for a return to the negotiating table.

The death toll in Palestine rose to 7,761 as of Saturday morning, with over one-third of casualties being children.
