Rabat – King Felipe VI of Spain reiterated Monday the need for Spain to maintain good relations with Morocco, shedding light on the North African country’s “high potential in the economic sectors.”
The Spanish Sovereign made the remarks in a speech in the northern Spanish city of Bilbao, Moroccan news agency reported, noting that the Spanish monarch stressed the significance of the enduring relations between Spain and Morocco, as the two countries embark on a journey of cementing their cooperation in a wide range of economic sectors.
In his speech at the 26th National Congress of Family Businesses, which was held under the banner of “The Strength of the People” with Morocco as the guest of honor, King Felipe VI recognized the wealth of opportunities in the Moroccan economic landscape.
Throughout his speech, King Felipe VI presented Morocco as “a country with economic sectors with high potential.”
He pointed to the strong presence of leading Spanish companies already established in Morocco, highlighting the successful cooperation that has already been forged. This link, he said, has the potential to generate even greater economic benefits for both nations.

King Felipe VI extended an invitation to Moroccan entrepreneurs, encouraging them to engage in a dialogue that could further enhance the bilateral relationship.
“The participation of Moroccan businessmen in this conclave can help to better understand the importance of relations with our neighboring country, Morocco,” he emphasized.
In addition to hailing the fundamental economic cooperation between Madrid and Rabat, King Felipe VI expressed Spain’s solidarity with Morocco in the wake of the devastating earthquake that struck the Al Haouz region on September 8, reinforcing the deep bilateral ties that go beyond the economic sphere.
