Rabat – Meeting earlier today with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu in Tel Aviv, US President Joe Biden said he was “sad” and “angry” following the bombing of a hospital in the Gaza Strip that killed hundreds, most of them children and women.
Biden’s visit is understood to be aimed at providing support to Israel in its war with the Palestinian resistance.
During his meeting, Biden said he wanted to come to Israel so that the people there and in the entire world know that the United States stands with Israel.
He also indicated that Washington wants to make sure that Israel has what it needs to respond to Hamas’s “terrorist attacks” and “atrocities” in Israel.
“I was sad and angry about the explosion at Gaza Hospital yesterday, and it seems the other side [the Palestinian resistance forces] is behind it, not you,” Biden told Netanyahu.

On October 8, the day after Israel suffered an unprecedented attack that left around 1300 casualties and hundreds of hostages, the Israeli government declared war on Hamas, the Palestinian Islamic Resistance Movement, which was responsible for the attack on southern Israel.
This decision was preceded by a declaration from Netanyahu, saying that Israel would “take mighty vengeance” for the Hamas attack.
After the attack, Israel’s chief military official overseeing operations in the Palestinian Territories declared that Hamas had “opened the gates of hell.”
In retaliation, the Israeli army launched its “Swords of Iron” operation. Despite claiming that the operation’s aim is to destroy Hamas’s military capabilities, the result has so far been the flattering of entire neighborhoods in the besieged Gaza Strip and the indiscriminate bombing of civilian infrastructure, including schools and hospitals.
