Rabat – An extremist from Chicago in the US has killed a 6-year-old Palestinian-American boy in a heinous Islamophobic crime on Sunday.
The extremist, who is a landlord, fatally stabbed the six-year-old boy and seriously wounded his mother.
Aljazeera said that the defendant singled out the victims because of their faith and their support for the Palestinian cause amid the ongoing Israeli aggression against civilians in Palestine.
“Detectives were able to determine that both victims in this brutal attack were targeted by the suspect due to them being Muslim and the ongoing Middle Eastern conflict involving Hamas and the Israelis,” the Will County Sheriff’s Office said yesterday.
Identified as Joseph M. Czuba , the 71-year-old extremist did not make any statement to detectives.
Following the heinous crime, the mother called 911, alerting police that her landlord attacked her.
When police arrived at the victims’ home, they reportedly found Czuba sitting on the ground near the home’s driveway, CNN reported.
The murdered boy and his wounded mother were found in a bedroom, carrying multiple stab wounds each.

According to the same source, the boy was stabbed 26 times, while his mother had more than a dozen stab wounds.
The murdered boy and his family are from Palestine and migrated to the US “seeking what we all seek – a refuge to live, learn, and pray in peace,” the White House said in a statement.
Quoting President Joe Biden, the press release said Biden and his wife First Lady Jill Biden were “shocked and sickened” over the attack, offering their condolences to the family.
Many have condemned the horrific attack, including the Council of American Islamic Relations in Chicago.
The Chicago office decried the fatal stabbing of the boy and the stabbing of his mother as “our worst nightmare.”
The council expressed confidence that US authorities will investigate and prosecute this attack as a hate crime.
The council shared disturbing details about how the crime happened, quoting the mother’s text messages to her husband.
The landlord attacked her when she opened the door, trying to choke her.
“You Muslims must die!” the landlord reportedly told her.
