Rabat – The Moroccan national indoor football team won on Sunday the title of the international league in Croatia after beating Turkey 9-0 in the final.
With this result, the Moroccan national indoor football team continues to shine in international continental competitions.
In Sunday’s match, Sofiane El Masrar scored three goals, and Sofiane Bourita scored two. Meanwhile, Othman Boumzo, Sofiane Albaqali, Idriss Al Raiss Fenni, and Ismail Amzal netted one each.
The Moroccan national team started the league with a victory over the Norwegian team, scoring a 5-0 win on Wednesday.
The team defeated Latvia 4-1 in their second match last Thursday. In their third and fourth matches, they defeated Turkiye consecutively on October 7 and 8, with results of 5-1 and 9-0, respectively.
The Atlas Lions are no strangers to winning international titles. In June of this year, the Moroccan futsal team won the 2023 Arab Futsal Cup, securing the title for the third consecutive year.
They also made history as the most successful team in the tournament’s record books.
The Moroccan team exhibited a remarkable performance throughout the tournament, overwhelming their opponents with a series of impressive victories. Their journey started with a 5-0 triumph over Comoros, followed by a 6-0 win against Lebanon.
In the knockout stages, the Atlas Lions maintained their winning streak, delivering a 5-2 victory against Saudi Arabia in the quarter-finals and a 5-1 victory in the semi-finals against Libya. They faced Kuwait in the final stage, where they secured a 7-1 victory.
