A massive fire has caused many injuries among Egyptian police at a police facility in the city of Ismailia in north-eastern Egypt.
Al Jazeera said that the incident has left at least 38 people injured.
No fatalities have been reported at the time of writing. Reuters quoted witnesses who acknowledged a delay in extinguishing the fire.
Parts of the buildings also collapsed due to the blaze.
A committee from the Interior Ministry will be tasked to uncover the circumstances of the case and the causes of the fire, Reuters reported.
Several pictures and videos have documented the flames coming out from the facility.
Egypt’s Health ministry announced the deployment of 50 ambulances to help injured people. Military emergency responders also joined in efforts to help rescue the injured people.
Similar incidents are a “common hazard” in Egypt, according to other reports.
Al Jazeera recalled a deadly fire that caused the deaths of 41 worshipers in a Cairo church in August 2022.
The situation prompted calls to improve Egypt’s infrastructure as well as the response time of rescuers, the news report added.
