Rabat – Mohammed VI Polytechnic University (UM6P) and Inwi, a Moroccan telecommunication company, signed a partnership agreement to support open innovation, research and development, and recruitment.
According to a statement from UM6P, the objective of the partnership is to strengthen cooperation and exchange between the two institutions in key areas such as training and skills development, recruitment, open innovation, as well as research and development (R&D).
Commenting on the signing of the agreement, Azdine El Mountassir Billah, CEO of Inwi, stated: “The synergy between Inwi and UM6P in the field of research and development is essential to drive technological innovation and foster the emergence of cutting-edge digital projects. “
Following the signing of the agreement, the two institutions plan to “intensify” collaboration efforts “by encouraging exchanges between our teams, sharing respective expertise, and deploying joint research projects,” he explained.
For his part, Hicham El Habti, President of UM6P, emphasized the importance of the partnership.
“We are convinced of the importance of maintaining a collective commitment to research, innovation, and entrepreneurship, as well as our determination to meet the current and future needs of national stakeholders, urging us to actively engage in our country’s digital inclusion,” he said.
Under this partnership, both parties agreed to cooperate on a number of issues including recruitment, career development, innovation, R&D, and skill development.

On the recruitment and career development front, the statement explained that the collaboration will focus on strengthening ties between the two parties to attract promising young talents and offer professional opportunities to UM6P students.
Under the agreement, Inwi would offer UM6P students internships, end-of-study projects, or the organization of customized recruitment sessions.
The second area of interest for the cooperation covers Open Innovation, with. Inwi and UM6P pledging to work closely together to promote innovative entrepreneurship.
The cooperation will take various forms, including organizing workshops exploring the applications of disruptive technologies such as AI, blockchain, and IoT, launching innovation challenges, providing mentoring sessions for UM6P startup support programs, and launching a specific short-term support program for promising startups, including winners of the inwiDAYS Awards.
Regarding Research and Development (R&D), Inwi and UM6P will collaborate on joint research projects focused on technological innovation in the digital field. The collaboration will lead to innovative thinking and the development of research and development in the telecommunications sector.
The final area of collaboration concerns training and skills development. Under the agreement, Inwi employees will be welcomed at UM6P for training that covers various topics such as leadership, strategy, and new technologies. They will also have the opportunity to participate in seminars, roundtables, and conferences on topics related to the telecommunications sector.
