Rabat – Yocheved Liftshitz, an 85-year-old hostage released by Palestinian resistance movement Hamas, denied all reports claiming that hostages were being mistreated.
Amid pressure from the Israeli press and government, the hostage publicly emphasized that she was “very well treated” along with the other hostages held captive following the Al-Aqsa Storm attack launched by the resistance movement against Israel on October 7.
The daughter of the hostage translated her mother’s remarks under interruption from the media and security guards on Tuesday.
When Liftshitz was kidnapped, she was put in a large hall with 25 other hostages.
Five of them along with the newly-released hostage were put in a separate room, Liftshitz’s daughter said, noting that members of Hamas also known as the Qassam brigade were “very friendly” towards the hostages.
“They took care of them. They were given the medicine and they were treated well,” Liftshitz’s daughter said, adding that one of the hostages who was injured in an accident was given antibiotics and medicine.
“They [Hamas] were very careful and clean,” the daughter said before being interrupted while translating her mother’s testimony.
Liftshitz was released along with another elderly hostage yesterday. A video documented the release, showing Hamas escorting them to the Red Crescent.
One of the videos also showed the hostages exchanging conversations with Hams members while eating biscuits.

Liftshitz was also seen shaking hands with one of the Qassam brigade when she was taken by an ambulance of the Red Crescent.
The videos put in question claims and allegations promoted by Western media as well as the Israeli government, which claimed that Hamas killed babies and mistreated the hostages.
Since the Al-Aqsa Storm operation, Hamas has released four hostages.
The Israeli military today posted an announcement offering monetary rewards to anyone that could bring information on the hostages’ location.
